Job Description

We're delighted to be recruiting a full time Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen. Hours may vary and additional hours may be required for some evenings, functions and holiday cover.

As a Commis Chef, you are responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and learning essential cooking skills.

Key Responsibilities

To assist in the preparation process of vegetables, meats and fish etc. Cooking and preparing elements of high-quality dishes with direction from senior chefs. Assisting other chefs as required. Support with deliveries, checking the quality of ingredients and managing stock levels and rotation. Ensuring the kitchen workstations are cleaned to a high standard. Contribute to maintaining kitchen food safety standards. Any other duties as directed by your manager.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following;

Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety. Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, and COSHH. The ability to communicate at all levels and work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally. Previous experience in a kitchen setting would be an advantage. Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent would be desirable.
Reporting to the Head Chef and their team, successful candidates will support the kitchen to provide the very best in quality and service to our guests and diners.
