Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic

Commis Chef

to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their culinary career who is passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Commis Chef, you will support the senior chefs in daily kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and kitchen standards. Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef during food service and busy periods. Carry out basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, portioning, and plating. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations. Ensure workstations and kitchen equipment are kept clean and organised at all times. Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic inventory tasks as required. Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience or relevant culinary training is preferred but not essential. A genuine passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene practices. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive attitude and commitment to contributing to a professional kitchen team.
