Conifox is a family-owned business situated on the outskirts of Kirkliston. We operate a large outdoor Adventure Park and a indoor sot play facility. Our Adventure Park offers a great space for families to enjoy, with picnic benches, BBQ, and lots of fun activities to explore, from crazy foot-golf to go-carts, bouncing pillow to sandpit. There is something for everyone to experience. The Activity Centre boasts a large adventure play frame, a toddler play frame, a toddler role-play town, 3 party rooms, a 200-capacity function suite and a 400-seater cafe selling the best freshly prepared food.

There are facilities for large-scale events, which can cater for up to 4000 visitors. We deliver 4 immersive events every year; Easter, Fox Fest, Halloween & Christmas.

ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Commis Chef, you will be a key member of our kitchen team, responsible for the daily operations of food preparation and service of food to customers within the restaurant, activity centre cafe and social/corporate events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained. Prepare and ensure availability of menu items and replace as required. To ensure that all deliveries are checked and put away promptly and correctly. Be pro-active at all times and use initiative, diplomacy, and discretion to solve any problems that may arise. Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks. Closing down of the kitchen after service ensuring all equipment is clean for the next day and all floors are brushed and mopped to a high standard. Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators. Receiving and organising deliveries. Washing and storing kitchen dishes and utensils. Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly. Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers. Assisting Chefs with meal preparation and service as required. Be pro-active at all times and use initiative, diplomacy and discretion to solve any problems that may arise.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work as part of a team within a public facing environment. Ability to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety. Possess great communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers within your work environment. Flexible can-do attitude with an approachable and enthusiastic manner. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and make balanced decisions. Previous experience in kitchens would be preferable but not essential. Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude. Applicants must be over the age of 18.
