We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while contributing to the overall success of our hospitality establishment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
Ensure that all food production meets quality standards and is prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Follow food safety protocols and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Support the team by helping with inventory management and stock rotation.
Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Assist in supervising junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Skills
Strong culinary skills with a passion for food production and preparation.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Experience in a hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when required.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills within the culinary field.
