Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team at Peaberry Coffee House & Kitchen.

As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to established recipes and standards. Support senior chefs in the kitchen by following instructions and completing assigned tasks efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients properly. Participate in the training of new kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Monitor food production processes to ensure quality control and adherence to presentation standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for cooking is crucial. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work effectively within a team. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure. A willingness to learn and develop culinary skills further, demonstrating commitment to personal growth within the hospitality industry.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
