We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team within our Italian kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking Italian dishes, with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including cooking, plating, and presentation of meals.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
Contribute to menu development by providing input on new dishes and seasonal offerings.
Requirements
Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and cooking techniques.
Supervising experience is an advantage, showcasing leadership capabilities within a team setting.
Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Excellent team management skills, fostering collaboration and communication among kitchen staff.
