Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, uphold food safety standards, and support kitchen operations to ensure a smooth and efficient service. The Commis will work closely with senior chefs and team members, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes and maintaining the organisation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are monitored Support team management by supervising junior staff when required Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures diligently to uphold food safety standards Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in kitchen meetings Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality environments Knowledge of food safety standards and practices Experience supervising or managing a team is desirable but not essential Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills within a team setting Previous restaurant or culinary experience is preferred A passion for culinary arts and hospitality service excellence Ability to work flexible hours as required by the business needs
