Job Overview
The Boot Inn in Orleton is now seeking an enthusiastic and positive individual to join our team as a
Commis Chef
. We are a small community pub and restaurant, and we pride ourselves on producing high-quality, freshly prepared food for our customers.
As a Commis Chef, you will be at the heart of our kitchen operation and will play a key role in our continued success. You will work as part of a friendly and welcoming team, sharing your passion for food while learning new skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
You will assist our chefs during busy services, maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, and help ensure our kitchen runs smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone who is just starting their career in hospitality and catering. We want to help you grow as an individual building confidence, forming connections with colleagues and customers, and developing your skills for a long-term future in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting chefs in all areas of the kitchen
Food preparation and cooking tasks
Washing up and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
Following a high health, safety, and hygiene standards
Working efficiently during busy service periods
Supporting the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
Food Handling Certificate (an advantage but not essential - training can be provided)
Background in catering or hospitality is beneficial
Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
