Responsibilities
Assist in preparing ingredients and components for various dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
Support senior chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of food items according to established standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations.
Supervise junior staff or trainees when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or replenishment needs.
Follow recipes accurately and contribute to menu development by offering ideas based on culinary trends.
Ensure all food is prepared efficiently within designated timeframes during busy service periods.
Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and sanitation throughout all kitchen activities.
Experience
Proven experience in food production, cooking, or a similar role within a hospitality or restaurant environment.
Strong background in food safety practices and adherence to hygiene standards.
Previous kitchen experience including food preparation, culinary techniques, and restaurant service is preferred.
Familiarity with hospitality operations such as serving and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
