The Role
As a Commis Chef at Yeatei, you'll work closely with our kitchen team to deliver exceptional food to our guests. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role where you'll gain experience across all areas of the kitchen, from preparation to service, while developing your skills in Asian cuisine. You'll play an important part in maintaining high standards, consistency, and efficiency in a busy, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist chefs in daily food preparation and cooking across different sections.
Ensure ingredients are prepared, labelled, and stored correctly.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, following food hygiene and safety standards.
Learn and develop skills in Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
Support the smooth running of service by preparing mise en place and assisting senior chefs as needed.
Uphold consistency in dishes, portioning, and presentation.
Take direction positively and contribute to a supportive, team-focused environment.
About You
Some previous kitchen experience is an advantage, but not essential -- training will be provided.
A genuine passion for food and interest in Asian flavours and cooking.
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills.
Reliable, hard-working, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A team player with good communication skills.

Start Date
The role will begin during our pre-opening phase, with full hours once the restaurant officially opens. Training and support will be provided to ensure you feel confident and ready for launch, due in early Oct.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: 29,000.00-31,000.00 per year
