Duties
Assist in preparing ingredients and components for various dishes, adhering to recipes and standards.
Support senior chefs in cooking, plating, and presentation of meals.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations and equipment.
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Supervise junior staff or trainees when required, providing guidance on food preparation techniques.
Contribute to menu development ideas based on current trends and customer preferences.
Manage stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and report shortages or issues promptly.
Ensure all food production activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality roles.
Demonstrable culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred.
Leadership qualities with the ability to work efficiently within a team environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control.
