Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations. The Commis will assist senior chefs in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is preferred, along with a passion for culinary excellence and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to recipes and standards Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for ingredients or supplies Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations Contribute to the supervision of junior staff or trainees when required Participate in menu development and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hospitality roles Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate colleagues Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods Culinary experience within a restaurant or similar environment is highly desirable Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service and teamwork
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
