We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Commis Chef plays a crucial role by supporting the chefs in food preparation and service. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for the culinary arts.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Help with stock rotation and inventory management to ensure freshness of ingredients.
Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed and working as part of a wider team.
Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Ensuring products are labelled an dated correctly
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management team promptly.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
A genuine interest in culinary arts and food preparation will be advantageous.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
