We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play an essential role in supporting the culinary operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a fast-paced hospitality environment, while also gaining valuable experience in food production and team management.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards. Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during service periods. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations. Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting shortages to supervisors.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for cooking is key. Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices. Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating good communication skills and leadership potential. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's operational needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
