Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Support senior chefs in the cooking process, including plating and presentation of meals. Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. Uphold high standards of hospitality and customer service during food preparation and service.

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or a culinary environment is preferred. Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food production. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques within the kitchen. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Busy Function & Restaurant venue looking for a Commis Chef to join our team.

Our Commis Chef...

As our Commis Chef, you will be assisting our Head Chef, Sous Chef .. cooking, whilst managing the daily operations and health & safety of the kitchen.

Here at Ye Olde Plough House we are a busy function venue catering for weddings, dinner dances, parties, private dining, baby showers.

The above position will include evenings and weekends.
