About the Role:

As our Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant, you will be supporting our Head Chef with food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and helping to deliver delicious, high-quality dishes. Whether you're chopping vegetables, prepping sandwiches, or plating up homemade cakes, you'll be an essential part of keeping the kitchen running smoothly.

Here's what we're looking for in the right person:

A love of food and a willingness to learn Some kitchen or hospitality experience preferred (but not essential if you are a keen cook looking to develop your skills) Someone who wants to assist in the preparation and cooking of fresh meals and baked goods Committed to high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation Happy to muck in with prep, stock rotation and deliveries Support the kitchen team during busy service periods A positive attitude and strong work ethic Follow all health and safety procedures Ability to work well as part of a small, friendly team Flexibility to work weekends and occasional holidays Positive, team-oriented attitude Full UK driving licence required

A bit about us at Cherries:

We're a lively countryside cafe based at Abbey Farm in Abbotsbury, just off the stunning Jurassic Coast. We serve breakfast and lunch daily from 10am-4pm, alongside brilliant coffee, drinks and a counter full of homemade cakes. We're open year-round and regularly host exciting events, fairs and seasonal festivals. Our small team is tight-knit, friendly and big on collaboration - we've built a genuinely supportive working environment.
