We have a rare opportunity for a talented person to join us as part of our dedicated kitchen team at Yamu Yamu. As a Commis chef, you will play a vital role within our team quickly becoming integral to the smooth running of our kitchen. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within our team and develop your skills in a thriving hospitality environment. Experience is not essential as we are more than happy to provide training to applicants with the right attitude, drive and commitment. The role:

Daily preparation of fresh produce from local suppliers

Day to day service in a busy restaurant

Produce dishes to the required standard under the guidance of the team

Upkeep the hygiene standards of the kitchen, including personal hygiene

Wash, disinfect and properly store cooking utensils and kitchen equipment

Responsible for cleaning effectively throughout the shift and close down

Work collaboratively and respectfully with other team members

Maintain health & safety standards

You'll have:

Drive, initiative and passion for the restaurant industry

The ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively

Excellent communication skills

Experience in fresh food preparation (not essential)

Experience in a kitchen environment or other relevant role (not essential)

Level 2 (or equivalent) certificate in food safety (or be willing to obtain this)
