We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis Chef/CDP to join our 'kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Commis/CDP you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation
Supervise and assist kitchen staff in daily operations, fostering a collaborative team environment
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols
Ensure proper storage of food items to minimise waste and maintain freshness
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential
Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and food preparation
Supervising experience is highly desirable, showcasing leadership skills within a kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
Ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining high standards of service
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
