We are a busy village pub/restaurant and are seeking skilled and motivated Commis / Sous Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidates must have extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control and ordering
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely
Support the development of new menu items and culinary initiatives
Uphold a positive team environment by fostering collaboration and professionalism
Qualifications
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings is highly desirable
Strong understanding of food production processes and service operations
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
