We have a fantastic opportunity in the Strategic Commissioning Team to work with social care colleagues and external providers to ensure that Young People Looked After have access to high quality care and support services that will deliver the best possible outcomes for them.



The Commissioning and Contract Management Officer role is a rewarding position, which requires strong communication skills, a good eye for detail and a commitment to high quality services. The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for working with external care providers to ensure that commissioned care and support services are delivering high quality outcomes for young people. Build good working relationships with a range of professionals, as well as working alongside young people to ensure that their voices are heard Ensure that commissioned services are delivering value for money and meeting legislative and contract requirements Be able to multi-task and to prioritise a varied workload, which includes visiting care providers across Pembrokeshire and further afield Undertake project work that delivers service improvements for young people and their families and carers Be provided with learning and training opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge in Commissioning and related topics

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience of children's services and commissioning but very much would welcome applications from people who have transferrable skills and experience in areas such as: - co-production with people with lived experience; experience of working in regulated care settings; service development and improvement; quality assurance; managing complex working relationships; and/or contract management.



The post sits within a supportive and diverse team of commissioning colleagues who support a range of social care and third sector providers to develop personalised support, which ensures that the person's voice is central to all decision making. Our service areas include, older people, working age people with Learning Disabilities, Children, Neurodiversity, Mental Health, Housing Related Services, Unpaid Carers and Advocacy.
