Role Description

An opportunity for an enthusiastic Commercial Finance Analyst within the Commercial Finance team at Mediabrands UK, to support the Commercial Business Partner and Finance Manager in managing the agencies financial planning, analysis, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Key point of support for the Commercial Business Partner and Finance Manager as a Commercial Finance Analyst to provide an overall view of forecasted performance.
  • Support the commercial Finance team to deliver and support the finance strategy by driving a consistent approach to planning cycles across agencies, including consolidation and analysis of business units plans and developing P&L.
  • Maintaining up to date forecast files for the P&L, including monthly revenue by client as well as monthly costs by line item and flash updates.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date detailed salary cost forecast by individual and working closely with HR to monitor headcount.
Reporting and analysis
  • Interpret financial information and analysis, supporting effective management decisions using benchmarking, trends, and other sources of information; develop and implement improvements to the planning processes.
  • Attend monthly revenue review meetings with relevant stakeholders within the business and update the revenue files accordingly.
  • Lead talent sessions with HR to review changes and monitor FTE.
  • Work collaborative with other finance teams to deliver effective financial management, controls and advisory support across the agencies.
  • Assist the Commercial Business Partner with the preparation of a monthly management information pack including YTD P&L performance vs budget/forecast, a P&L flash update and a debtors/WIP/unbilled summary for escalation.
  • Provide the agency teams with regular timesheet analysis.
  • Client profitability analysis and management - prepare monthly client profitability summaries to share with senior client leads/directors and work with the business to ensure accounts are profitable. Flagging areas of concern where client teams are under/over servicing clients.
Ad Hoc Support
  • Drive continuous improvement across the finance and agency teams.
  • Maintain contract inventory.
  • Support intercompany reconciliation.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification or bachelor\'s degree in finance-related subject
  • Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of accounting standards and be able to apply these principles to financial modelling.
  • Hyperion experience desirable.
  • Media industry experience desirable.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player with a \'can-do\' attitude who can collaborate effectively and efficiently but who can also work (when required) independently.
  • Ability/desire to work closely with the agency/people outside of the finance function.
