Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Communications Officer to join our Communications Team , working from home. You will join us on full-time, permanent basis , and in return, you will receive a salary ranging from 26,173 to 29,912 per annum , dependant on experience.
Royal Voluntary Service mobilises volunteers to support people in need and the NHS. Our volunteers work with healthcare teams and in communities providing practical help and emotional support when people are struggling to cope.
We believe volunteers are the lifeforce of Britain's communities and have developed a digital volunteering platform, named GoVo, a tech for good innovation which will connect volunteers to causes they care about for the benefit of charities across the country.
About the Communications Officer role:
Joining us as Communications Officer for Royal Voluntary Service, you will use your experience to support the development and delivery of effective communications to the charity's external and internal stakeholders. This will primarily be across email communications.
You will be responsible for supporting with communications to audiences including members of the public and charities, to raise awareness and engagement with GoVo. You will also develop compelling communications for volunteers, RVS staff and supporters.
Hours: 35 per week
Location: Homebased with occasional national travel
This is what we're looking for:
Knowledge
A BA or equivalent qualification or demonstratable experience is required
Experience
At least two years working in a comms environment
Experience using an email marketing or CRM platform to create and send emails, i.e. Dotdigital, HubSpot, Mailchimp (required)
Experience building automated email journeys/workflows (desired)
Skills
This is a role which requires confident writing at pace. The post holder is required to write in a variety of styles for our different communications channels in a way that is engaging, grammatically correct and appropriate, maintaining the RVS tone of voice.
Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
Managing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
Juggling multiple projects and deadlines at the same time and to a high standard
This is what you'll be doing:
Supporting the Senior Communications Manager, Communications Manager, Senior Team and project leads to facilitate effective delivery of the communications strategy and key messages to staff, volunteers and external stakeholders. This will be through channels including e-newsletters, standalone email updates, SMS, webinars, presentations, seminars.
Producing compelling, copy to engage our various audiences well as our staff.
Building email campaigns across our email platforms; Dotdigital, Microsoft Dynamics and HubSpot.
Supporting with the segmentation of contact data.
Using email marketing best practice to increase engagement of comms through testing and evaluation, analysing the impact of our e-marketing programme and providing suggestions to improve success and maximise campaign effectiveness.
Reporting and measuring the impact and effectiveness of our e-comms.
Managing the monthly staff Virtual Coffee Meeting, working with colleagues to produce content and slides.
Managing staff communications - including the weekly all staff comms and Retail comms.
Setting up webinars for all audiences as required and supporting with webinar promotion and technical support on the day.
Supporting the creation and build of nurture journeys in HubSpot and DotDigital.
As a member of the comms team, there may be occasional times when you will be asked to support with any urgent comms over the weekend.
Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
