Develop your communications career at Achieving for Children. This is a great role if you are starting out on or developing your communications career path. This job will give you the opportunity to develop your writing and creative skills whilst providing important information to children, young people and families in an engaging way.

About the role
The Communication and Marketing Support Officer's primary responsibility is to help the team to:

  • maintain the upkeep of the
, and AfC's intranet * understand Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and make information accessible
  • create engaging social media content
  • promote core communication messages and campaigns.
You will learn very quickly about children's services and how to make a positive impact on children, young people, and families' lives by providing clear and easy to read information.
We understand that training and development play a significant role at the start of any career, so we commit to providing you with the time and space to learn and develop additional key skills, such as creative writing, video and animation editing, and a wide range of in-house online and face-to-face training programmes.

About you
The successful candidate will have:
  • a passion to communicate information in the best way to different people
  • good relationship-building skills and the ability to work with lots of people at all levels
  • a positive, can-do approach and determination to achieve objectives
  • strong organisational abilities, including creative thinking, problem solving, multitasking and time management
  • some working knowledge of web and social media platforms, and how to use them
  • good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to use different communication styles, including a grasp of social media.
Desirable:
  • some experience or interest in photography, creative design, film production, editing and distribution.
  • some knowledge of services for children and families
