Part time role:

12 hours per week, 13.00 per hour (flexible days and hours) permanent position.

Job Summary:



As the Communication and Social Media Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility, engagement, and impact of the organisation's mission to promote high-quality physical education across the United Kingdom. Working within a charitable and professional membership context, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with the organisation's values and objectives.

You will manage and grow the organisation's digital presence across social media platforms, craft compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences, including educators, policymakers, and the wider public, and support campaigns that advocate for physical education and active lifestyles. Your work will contribute to member engagement, public awareness, and stakeholder influence, ensuring the organisation remains the authoritative voice in the field.

This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for education and social impact. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners and members to deliver

consistent, high-quality communications that reflect the organisation's commitment to excellence and inclusion in physical education.

Key Responsibilities:



Developing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance visibility and brand recognition. Creating and managing content across various platforms, including images, videos, and written posts. Engaging with users by monitoring, listening, and responding to comments and messages. Managing social media campaigns and promotions to drive engagement and sales. Coordinating with marketing and PR teams to align social media efforts with overall brand strategy. Email campaigns Newsletter and communications Social media captions and posts Product/ Report branding Event design support Proofread key documents Update brand materials and products

Key Skills:



Strategic Communication

- Ability to create, develop and implement communication plans and timelines aligned with organisational goals.

Social Media Management

- Proficiency in managing platforms such as X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.

Content Creation

- Skilled in writing, editing and designing engaging content for digital and print formats within Canva.

Campaign Development

- Experience in planning and executing awareness and advocacy campaigns using Mailchimp.

Audience Engagement

- Understanding of how to tailor messaging to different stakeholder groups including members, educators and policymakers.

Analytics & Reporting

- Ability to use tools like Google Analytics, Meta Insights and scheduling platforms to measure impact and inform strategy.

Brand Stewardship

- Ensuring consistency in tone, visual identity and messaging across all channels.

Collaboration & Relationship Building

- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and members.

Crisis Communication

- Ability to respond appropriately and professionally during sensitive or high-profile situations.

Digital Literacy

- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp), and basic graphic design software (e.g, Canva, Adobe Express).
