COMMUNICATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT FOR D/dEAF STUDENTS
Hours of work are 8.20am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, 30 hours and 25 minutes per week
BSL Level 1&2: 18,789 - 19,080 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement
BSL Level 3: 19,378 - 20,309 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement
We are looking for an engaging and motivated person who can sign at BSL Level 3 or above, to join our team of Communication Support Assistants, working with D/deaf students in our Sensory Support Centre.
The role will involve supporting students in lessons as well as working 1:1 with students and running small group intervention sessions
You should have a good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
Classroom experience or experience of working with young D/deaf people will be an advantage
Being aware of how to help D/deaf students access the curriculum is essential
The successful candidate should be willing to undertake further BSL training. Support and training will be provided as necessary.
BSL level 3 (or above) is preferred but we will consider candidates who have BSL Level 1 or 2.
