SEN Learning Support Assistant
for a welcoming
primary school in Burgess Hill
, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

About the Role
You'll work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships and making a meaningful impact in a child's daily school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social development
Implement strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and behaviour
Track progress and contribute to reviews and planning
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary or nursery setting
Calm, nurturing, and adaptable to individual pupil needs
Confident in supporting behaviour and emotional wellbeing
A strong communicator and team player
Committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
Bonus Skills:
Experience with autism, speech and language, or SEMH
Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or sensory integration
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Mental Health First Aid)
