We work with foundations, consultancies, businesses, NGOs, and governments to deliver concrete action on local adaptation and resilience, biodiversity protection, food security and infrastructure planning. This role will initially focus on our critical minerals work.
The Role
We are looking for a responsible, organized, and motivated person to be a Communications Advisor, supporting TMP's strategic aims and individual project goals. The primary responsibility of the job will be to perform tasks including:
Key strategic functions:
Developing and implementing comprehensive internal and external communication plans to support organizational goals and initiatives.
Maintaining a communication calendar, tracking communication objectives and activities by country and key objective.
Providing advice to colleagues across the organisation on internal communications planning, audiences, channels and messaging to ensure the most effective approaches.
Ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with the charity's mission and values.
Content Creation:
Creating engaging and informative communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, social media content, and briefing slides for partners, community groups, stakeholders, and interested parties.
Using data insights as the bedrock of external communications to generate interest and awareness in our strategic data set.
Collaborating with different departments to gather and share relevant information and updates.
Supporting Engagement Events:
Working with partners, across the globe, to support the planning and execution of events for partners, key stakeholder groups and influencers to boost awareness of our objectives and key achievements.
Gathering feedback and insights from event attendees to use within communication collateral, amplifying key messages and success stories.
External Relations:
Building and maintaining relationships with partners, community groups, stakeholders, and other interested parties.
Coordinating and facilitating external communications, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
Representing the charity at external events and meetings as needed.
Digital Tools Management:
Managing and maintaining internal and external communication platforms and tools, such as collaboration software, social media channels, and email marketing systems.
Supporting staff in using these tools effectively.
Measurement and Reporting:
Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of internal and external communication strategies and initiatives.
Providing regular reports and insights to leaders on communication performance and engagement.
Qualifications and skills
Required
Minimum three to five years of Communications experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience in the non-profit/charitable sector.
Experience in any one of local or international development, environmental management, climate, data science or financial investment.
Passion for climate change and sustainability issues.
Experience of remote working.
