This vacancy is open to all 2023 graduates of Birmingham City University (Academic Year 2022/23) ONLY. You must be a Birmingham City University (BCU) graduate and have completed your studies between 1st August 2022 and 31st July 2023 to be eligible for this post. As part of this programme, you will receive additional support in the form of tailored learning to support your transition from student to working professional. Following an expansion to BCU\xe2\x80\x99s Careers+ service we have an exciting opportunity for a BCU 2023 graduate with a particular focus on supporting the Careers+ team with planning and creating effective student/alumni and external communications material. The successful candidate will be a naturally talented writer who can translate a variety of important announcements for staff and students into engaging stories, promotional emails, and content that they want to read or watch. This will also involve creating videos, supporting events like Careers Fairs, and using a range of channels, both digital and physical to inform, engage, and enthuse both the BCU community and external stakeholders and employers The role will also involve supporting the Senior Communications and Events Officer to develop a social media plan across multiple platforms to increase student engagement with the Careers+ team\xe2\x80\x99s offer. This role will be suitable for a recent BCU graduate with the following skills and experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal \xe2\x80\x93 with proven ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrable knowledge of content-led marketing
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong creative qualities, from developing new ideas for creative concepts to approving artwork and copy
  • Excellent demonstrable copywriting and proofing skills with rigorous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Demonstrable knowledge of managing social media channels
  • Evidence of a diplomatic and confident approach to handling internal stakeholders through negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation capabilities.
  • Good IT skills with proficiency in MS Office, CMS, and CRM applications.
