Communications and Marketing Executive

Purpose of the Role

The Communications and Marketing Executive will be responsible for planning and delivering all aspects of marketing and communications across the business. This is a stand-alone role, requiring a proactive, self-driven individual who can take ownership of marketing activity from idea through to execution, with minimal supervision.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Campaigns

- Take full ownership of marketing campaigns to promote products, supplier ranges, and seasonal offers.
- Plan and deliver trade promotions, branch events, and customer loyalty initiatives.
- Produce creative content for print and digital channels (brochures, flyers, email campaigns, product guides).
- Lead on trade show and event organisation, from concept to delivery.

Communications

- Develop and manage internal communications to keep branches aligned with campaigns.
- Write and distribute press releases, newsletters, and case studies.
- Ensure brand messaging is consistent, professional, and aligned to company values.

Digital & Social Media

- Manage all social media channels, driving engagement and growing online presence.
- Maintain and update the company website with offers, product launches, and news.
- Analyse campaign performance and recommend improvements.

Supplier & Customer Engagement

- Work directly with suppliers on joint marketing campaigns, co-branded promotions, and advertising.
- Provide the sales team with effective marketing materials and resources.
- Develop in-branch displays and point-of-sale marketing to support sales.

Skills & Experience Required

- Experience in a marketing or communications role preferred (B2B, trade, or merchant sector desirable).
- Self-starter with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver projects independently.
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, including SEO, email, and social media.
- Competent in marketing/design tools (e.g., Canva).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.

- Highly proactive and able to work with minimal direction.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of the plumbing & heating trade (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Creative, resourceful, and confident in taking ownership of projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with suppliers, staff, and customers.
- Resilient, adaptable, and motivated to deliver results.
