We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Website Manager, to join our dynamic team at Cramlington Town Council. This role involves developing and implementing communication strategies, managing digital platforms, creating multimedia content, and fostering community engagement. We are seeking a Communications and Website Manager working initially 22 hours a week (office based).

Salary 35,000 - 39,000 pro rata

Overall Responsibilities
We are seeking a Communications and Website Manager working, initially 22 hours a week (office based)
Reporting to the Deputy Town Clerk (Communities) our role will include:
leading the Council's communication strategy across all platforms, including website management, social media, newsletters, press releases, and community publications.
developing and implementing community engagement programmes that strengthen relationships between the Council and residents, local groups, and partner organisations.
Organising and coordinating community events, public consultations, and engagement activities that promote civic participation and community cohesion.
Th successful candidate will be encouraged to use their specific skills and experience to support the wider work of the Town Council.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, ideally within the public sector or a community-focused organisation.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in digital media management, including social media platforms and website content management systems.
Strong graphic design and video editing skills.
Ability to think strategically and develop effective communication plans.
Experience with community engagement and public relations.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating communication effectiveness.
Personal Attributes:
High level of creativity and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
