The role




From former national journalists to Special Advisers to in-house media experts, Hanbury brings together an exceptional communications team to advise and support some of the most well-known businesses in the UK and around the world. Our communications team works with major financial institutions, tech startups, campaign groups, and household name brands to communicate their message, manage their reputation, and deliver the media coverage they need.


We are looking to recruit a new Associate Director who will have an exceptional network of journalists, a track record of delivering high-profile news coverage, and who can confidently advise senior business leaders on how to navigate the media and protect their reputation.

You are:

Passionate about media relations, with a detailed understanding of how to secure quality coverage.
An exceptional writer. Proud of your strong network of journalists.

Dedicated to producing high-quality work and going the extra mile.

You will lead on a range of tasks and projects which might include:




Advising on messaging, media handling, and designing a communications strategy. Running the press office function for a client, both proactive pitching and reactive crisis handling
Working with teams to produce high-quality written content, from op-eds for national newspapers to thought leadership reports using data and insight.
Taking on project management responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of work for client programmes and helping to manage client relationships Effectively managing teams to deliver against tight deadlines and supporting the development of junior colleagues
Assisting the firm's Partners and Directors in spotting opportunities to develop and grow the business, and contributing ideas and taking part in pitches for new clients.
