Horsham Matters is a local charity dedicated to alleviating hardship and meeting the needs of people in our community. We provide essential services including food support, household items, and energy advice to those who are struggling. Our vision is to ensure that no one in our community faces hardship alone.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Communications & Marketing Officer role is to strengthen the charity's public profile and drive engagement through impactful storytelling and strategic communication. By creating and managing compelling content across various platforms, the officer will showcase the meaningful work of our staff, volunteers, and clients, highlighting the real difference the charity makes in people's lives. This role is central to raising awareness of our mission and inspiring support from the public, corporate partners, and trusts and foundations, increasing donations and helping sustain and grow our charitable impact.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
Create, schedule, and post at least three engaging and inspiring content reflecting our story, impact and create awareness of our programmes and charity shop across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Tik Tok).
Develop campaigns that increase engagement, followers, and awareness of Horsham Matters' work.
Website Updates:
Weekly updates and maintain the charity's website with fresh content, news, and stories.
Ensure information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with our brand voice.
Content Creation & Design:
Use Canva (or similar tools) to create high-quality visual materials such as posters, reports, infographics, social media content, and digital campaigns.
Develop compelling storytelling pieces that showcase the charity's impact and community work.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with staff and volunteers to gather raw stories, photos, and updates, and turn these into polished communications content.
Collaborate with the Outreach & Support Manager, Fundraising & Marketing Manager, Charity Shop Manager and CEO to support fundraising campaigns, create awareness of our work and donor communications.
Brand Consistency:
Ensure all communications align with Horsham Matters' values, tone, and visual identity.
