We have an exciting opportunity for a
Communications and Social Media Manager
to join the existing
Brand and Audiences Department
team. Reporting to the
Head of Marketing and Communications
the successful applicant will provide solid experience in the management of social media and press/broadcast media liaison in a cultural or visitor focused organisation.
This is a crucial role responsible for managing the Royal Armouries' external communications and social media, ensuring content and messages are consistent and engaging. The role also supports internal engagement, with a focus on internal communications.
We are looking for someone with solid experience of communications planning, developing and delivering social media content which drives engagement, working with external media to drive awareness of a brand or organisation, and some internal communications activity.
The role manages two direct reports and will need to provide direction and support to these roles in terms of social media content and management, PR and internal communications.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation and with external media and partners.
Hours
This role is for 36 hours per week. The role will be predominantly office based with 3 days a week in the office in Leeds and hybrid working on 2 days a week. There is flexibility around the work pattern as this role will be required to be present for filming and media opportunities, so weekly work patterns may vary. Whilst the role is based in Leeds, there will be occasional visits to the Tower of London collection and Fort Nelson in Hampshire to work with teams there. There will also be a requirement to work on some bank holidays and weekends around important events.
