At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Specialist to join our team.


This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Communications Department, who ensure a clear information flow amongst our colleagues, lead safety communications, supports regulatory compliance, manages digital and media platforms, and advises our leadership team on strategic messaging that is aligned with our organisational goals.


As a Communications Specialist, you will develop, deliver and evaluate communications across a wide variety of channels to engage and excite colleagues, stakeholders and the wider community, support Sheffield Forgemasters through an exciting period of complex transformational change.

What you'll be doing

Writing engaging content for a wide range of channels and audiences. Supporting the development and delivery of regular calendar events from content creation, promotion, logistics and evaluation. Collating and analysing evaluation data to identify opportunities to continuously improve channels. Build and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the business, government departments and agencies. Monitor feedback and evaluation channels to collate insight on performance and opportunities to improve.

About You

Experience working in a multi-disciplinary communications role developing impactful, engaging communications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience developing and delivering changes and / or transformation communications. Strong stakeholder relationship builder. Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a fast - paced working environment.

The Working Pattern

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.

Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. People working with government / MOD assets must complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks.

These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
