Hope Nottingham is aware of the devastating impact that loneliness and social isolation has on the lives of local people and is committed to providing opportunities for friendship and community connection via on-site social activities to connect people, reducing loneliness and improving spiritual support, in keeping with our vision 'to inspire and grow communities of Hope.'



Fixed term contract for 1-2 years, 16-20 hours per week including Saturdays



Join our team in making a

positive impact

as our Community Activities and Volunteer Coordinator. This part-time position will engage, support and train volunteers to develop our initiatives reducing loneliness, improving wellbeing and faith-based support.

Experience working with volunteers is desirable but not essential. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have worked in community settings, and have experience in any of the following - gardening, allotments, social eating, wellbeing, reducing loneliness.

You must:



Be open to working across a variety of activities to support any aspect of Hope Nottingham's work indoors and outdoors, including but not limited to community meal, friendship groups, community garden and allotments, ad-hoc support of our Youth Renew Cafe Be a practising Christian to lead and support on faith-based activities such as prayer, Kintsugi Hope and Renew Wellbeing (as a genuine occupational requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9) Easily connect with our guests, supporters, volunteers, staff and to ensure a welcoming and caring service for all Work in a highly organised and efficient manner to cope with a variety of tasks and administration such as volunteer paperwork Be confident to engage individuals and groups of all ages including speaking to guests, supporters, volunteers or in front of large groups (e.g. a community meals) Bring with you or be willing to complete Food Hygiene level 2 (funded by us) and have knowledge of health & safety Be flexible to work 4 or 5 days including regular Saturdays with occasional evenings Have a full driving license, access to a car to travel easily to our main hubs in Carlton and Beeston An outgoing, positive and proactive approach Administrative skills including Microsoft office An enhanced DBS check (funded by us) is required for this position.

Hope Nottingham began as a small drop in cafe with a dozen volunteers in 2010 and has now grown to encompass 14 foodbanks supporting communities across the Nottingham area, with main hubs in Beeston and Carlton, seeking to offer holistic and life changing support for hundreds of people
