We are seeking a dedicated Community Care Assistants to join our team. The Community Care Assistants will be responsible for to provide personal and practical support to service users in their own homes.
Reporting to:
Registered Care Manager, Care Coordinator
Main Function
To provide personal care and practical support to service users in their own homes, whilst observing safe working practices and ensuring the privacy, personal choice and dignity of the service user.
To act as a link between the service user and Apollo Care Surrey and report to the Registered Care Manager or Care Co-ordinator any deterioration or improvement in the service users' circumstances and any general problems that may arise.

Requirements to carry out job
The specific duties carers will be expected to carry out are as follows: -
Assistance with personal care to include bathing, washing, shaving, hair care, dressing, undressing and oral care, caring for our service users.
Assistance with all toilet and continence requirements
Assistance with the monitoring and supervision of medication, including application of topical creams running in line with the agencies policy
Assistance with other health related activities including catheter care and eye drop instillation
Assistance with handling the service user's money in respect of payment of bills and shopping
Assistance with light general housework, including laundering of clothes and bedding.
Assistance with pet care (if stated in the service users care plan)
Regular attendance of staff meetings to inspire and support members of the team.
To carry out accurate and relevant administration with regards to time sheets and communication sheets
To attend training sessions and regular team meetings, empowering our staff to self-develop.
To always wear the uniform and identity badge when on duty.
Keep all information about clients and their families secure and confidential in accordance with GDPR regulations.
Assistance with the cooking of light meals, preparing snacks and basic food hygiene, empowering and supporting service users to get involved as much as possible.
It is your duty as a care assistant to provide care and support in the least intrusive way possible. All service users and their representatives should be treated with courtesy and in a professional manner.
As a carer you must be sensitive and responsive to protected characteristics ie race, culture, religion, disability, gender and sexuality of the service users receiving care and their representatives.
Carers must carry out their job with the assistance of the service user not for the service user. This is an essential part of encouraging independence, motivation and empowerment.
Carers must always adhere to the confidentiality policy.
No nursing tasks are carried out by Apollo Care Surrey.
Experience & Knowledge:
Previous experience of caring for vulnerable individuals (Required)
Community care Assistant experience (Desirable)
Other Requirements:
DBS check (Require)
Ability to provide work and character references
Driver with UK licence (Required)
Access to a Car (Required)
Good English - Written & Verbal
NVQ Health & Social Care Level 2 (or Equivalent Training)
Skilled Required
Ability to maintain all Care Plans/care records
Ability to communicate verbally in an effective and accurate way to obtain and give required information to support the members of the care team and the client.
Ability to manage time
Ability to think and work methodically but in a caring way.
Ability to organise workload and balance priorities whilst offering support to your team.
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to be self-motivated and work without supervision, inspiring others around you
to do the same.
