An exciting opportunity has arisen for two B6 1WTE permanent posts in the Children's Community Nursing Service, based at Queen Mary's Hospital, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust . We are looking for highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Children's Nurses, passionate about providing high quality care to babies, children and young people in the community setting . You will require at least 2 years post graduate general paediatric experience , and be a car owner and driver.
Epsom and St Helier children's services have been rated by the Care Quality Commission as 'Good' in all five of the main domains of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, giving an us overall rating of 'Good' as well as being given great feedback from the London Healthy Partnership peer review. Queen Mary's Hospital for Children is based at the St Helier site. Children are seen in the dedicated Paediatric A&E which sits alongside the adult ED; Outpatient clinics, Ward and assessment unit.

Main duties of the job
With support from Senior CCN Service members you will :
Support the transition of babies, children and young people from hospital to home.
Provide specialist knowledge to meet the diverse range of needs of patients and their families in a variety of community and hospital settings, acting as a resource of paediatric expertise and providing advice to other professionals, promoting evidence based practice.
You will hold a clinical caseload within your scope of competency
You will have responsibility for the ongoing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes of specialised nursing care in partnership with children, young people, their families.
Work in partnership with the wider multi disiplinary team.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
Document as per NMC and Trust requirements
Main clinical responsibilities will involve: medicines management, blood sampling and administration of medications via IV , IM , S/C and CVAD'S, administration of SACT, gastrostomy and enteral feeding management, wound management, and care of babies, children and young people with complex health needs.
Be an effective team player with the ability to work autonomously in patients homes, working collaboratively with CYP their families/carers and multidisciplinary teams.
