An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 5 Registered Nurse to work within the ambulatory clinics based at South Pembrokeshire Hospital.



The post holder will be required to work within Leg ulcer, catheter/TWOC, and ear micro suction clinics as well as any newly developed clinics.

The base will be South Pembrokeshire Hospital, Pembroke Dock.



Main duties and clinical duties of the job include (but are not limited to):



Wound management (including doppler ultrasound)



Continence management/catheterisation (including bladder scan and trial without catheter), Venepuncture & Ear Micro-Suctioning. The post holder may be required to deliver care using clinical equipment such as Doppler ultrasound scanner, Micro-Suctioning equipment, ECG, bladder scanner, urinary catheter. These procedures require accuracy, concentration, and mental acuity.



Perform comprehensive assessments of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs.



Be responsible for the maintenance of a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control policies procedures and best practice.



Assist and maintain a safe and hazard free area of work.



You will involve clients/service users and carers/relatives in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.



Perform nursing procedures within the criteria of Patient Group Directions for example administering Influenza vaccination, tetanus, Entonox.



Provide health promotion and health education for individuals.



Participate in and contribute to patient and public involvement activities.

48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.



Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; however English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
