ABOUT US
Forest Voluntary Action Forum (FVAF) is a passionate support and development agency for voluntary activity and community action in the Forest of Dean. We believe in the power of communities and spend our time connecting residents with decision makers, supporting local groups, and helping neighbourhoods do what matters most to them. Through positive community action, we help citizens develop skills, resilience, and social capital to live more cohesively together - creating greater individual and collective empowerment to meet health, wellbeing, and social needs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Community Connector you will take the lead on transformative place-based work that's making real change happen in Cinderford - tackling inequalities and getting people more active in their community. You will:
Work with Active Gloucestershire to create sustainable models and capture learning for long-term legacy
Facilitate the co-production of the 'TRY' Blood Pressure Programme with local rugby clubs and health professionals
Support Cinderford Action Groups to collaborate, review progress and track impact
Build strong relationships with cross-sector organisations across health, wellbeing and physical activity
Connect residents to appropriate services and opportunities through systems-based approaches
ABOUT YOU
Excellent communication skills with a positive, creative approach to challenges
Proven ability to build strong relationships across community, public and private sectors
Experience with Asset Based Community Development and whole systems approaches
Strong organisational skills and confident IT user (databases, MS Office)
Knowledge of place-based working and the voluntary sector, ideally in the Forest of Dean
Ability to inspire others and work flexibly to achieve outcomes
Full driving licence with vehicle access (essential)
