Soft skills provision including communication, motivation, problem solving, teamwork, and conflictresolution.
Life Skills courses such as cooking, travel training, creative arts, foreign languages, being energy efficient, mentalhealth awareness, fitness,gardening, confidence building, baking, volunteering within the community, and work experience.
Understanding green growth skills (these are skills that align to net zero ambitions with low carbon growth, assist local lowcarbon requirements in the local supply chain and what is required to help the District enable the UK to meet its net zeropriorities).
Practical digital skills which compliment those being delivered by the South Staffordshire Colleges Digital SkillsAcademy and is the next step from the Staffordshire Multiply programme.

Key Responsibilities
Community Connector
To support residents, the community connector will:
Undertake outreach to engage potential residents onto the programme through Community centers, partnership working, and social media).
Hold a caseload.
Undertake Diagnostic Assessments to inform SMART Learning Plans.
Lead regular one-to-one progress reviews.
Deliver employment-focussed support e.g. building confidence and motivation, completing course applications.
Support residents to apply for, start and complete training in target sectors (see below).
Refer residents to accredited training and group and one to one training where necessary.
Target groups for community activity to engage with are
High amount of low-income households
Higher economic inactivity
Low skilled
Lack of energy efficiency knowledge
Digitally excluded.
Poor health
Poor financial capability.
Essential/Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Experience in providing one-to-one support or coaching and positively influencing other peoples professional or personal development.
Experience of working in the employment and skills sector and delivering to specified targets, quality standards and compliance measures is essential.
Experience of using motivational and action planning techniques to manage the progression of participants into sustainable work opportunities.
The empathy it takes to engage with all sorts of people, and the confidence to challenge them if you need to.
The ability to handle complex cases at the same time in an environment where you will have targets to achieve.
The need to be organised and be able to manage time effectively and ensure monthly targets are achieved.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire others.
An influencing approach, especially when it comes to bringing other people around to your way of thinking.
The need to have a good understanding of the local and regional labour market.
A practical understanding of the recruitment and selection processes.
You should be comfortable to do some local travel, and using a range of digital channels including phone, video conferencing and email.
* Good administration, IT and good experience of using MS office software.
