Cotswold Friends is a well-established charity in the North Cotswolds and Cirencester, supporting older and vulnerable people and working to reduce loneliness and isolation. We have an exciting and rewarding role available to join our dedicated and friendly team as a Community Day Club Co-ordinator.
We are looking for a caring and motivated individual to run our Community Day Club twice a month in Bourton-on-the-Water and once a month in Moreton in Marsh. This role will include some office-based work with the Support Service Team.
Our Community Day Club supports individuals who may have a long-term health condition or a physical disability. The day club helps to promote well-being and reduce social isolation, as well as supporting carers by helping them to take a break whilst their cared-for attends the club. This role is fully supported by our Support Services Manager and staff, plus a team of volunteers.
Main purpose of the role:
Be responsible for the safeguarding and the health and safety of clients whilst at the day club.
Keep clients' details up to date and complete club registers, consulting with the Support Services Manager
Develop and coordinate a variety of activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of our clients.
Maintain a calendar of planned activities, ensuring these are well-balanced and cater to different interests and abilities.
Encourage individual participation in activities and assist and support as needed.
Offer support to volunteers helping at the Day Club and delegate all tasks to be carried out.
Organise and oversee the preparation of a light lunch for attendees.
Organise and participate in group outings, with the support of Community Transport, volunteers, and the staff team.
Essential:
Previous experience of working with elderly people who may be frail or living with a long-term health condition or disability.
Previous experience of working with people living with dementia.
Drive to develop the club, delivering interesting, fun, and creative activities for the group.
Strong interpersonal skills and a caring approach to our clients.
Good organisational skills to ensure sessions are well run.
Good IT skills to input and update client records.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Full Training provided including:
Support Service staff will support whilst training, to run the day club.

First Aid
Further support for training and development is available.

Salary:
14.10 per hour
Hours per week:
6 hours per week.
Days required to work
: Wednesday (2nd & 4th Wednesday per month), and Thursday (3rd Thursday per month).
The remaining hours will be spent in the Support Services office (Moreton-in-Marsh).
Location:
Bourton on the Water (Wednesday) and Moreton in Marsh (Thursday)
We will need to complete an enhanced DBS check
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro-rata
