Main Job purpose:
The main purpose of the job is to manage the Stepping Stones Project, which is part of CVT Lakeside Healthy Living and assist in further developing key relationships with partners and the community in RCT and beyond.
Bring together the residents in the Mid Rhondda area to kickstart the Stepping Stones project with a particular emphasis on rural and heritage skills training and utilising the outdoors and nature.
Undertake ongoing communication with the community and other stakeholders, specifically relating to outdoor learning and healthy living and green issues.
Set up a steering group for the Stepping Stones project with members of the local community and Stakeholders.
The post holder will add value to the organisation's existing work, consolidating and bringing a high-quality approach to existing relationships and income streams, whilst bringing drive and energy to develop new opportunities.

The job can involve working evenings, weekends and bank holidays and will be subject to 3 months probationary period.
Main responsibilities:
The Co-ordinator will:
Manage the Stepping Stones team, arrange regular team meetings, line manage individuals and undertake regular supervision
Oversee the implementation of the Stepping Stones Project plan
Lead on the implementation of the project's Marketing and Communication Plan including a regular newsletter and website and social media updates
Develop outreach and community engagement initiatives with Stepping Stones Team
Lead on project monitoring and evaluation including case study, photographic and video evidence gathering.
Lead on policy for the Stepping Stones Project, including Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities & Diversity and Welsh language.
Arrange regular meetings of the Stepping Stones Steering Group.
Prepare and write reports for the Big Lottery, the Board of Trustees and the Stepping Stones Steering Group.
Monitor the project budget, working closely with the Operations Director and Administrative Officer.
Lead on partnership development and be the first point of contact for specified agencies and individuals.
Co-ordinate the management and administration of monitoring and evaluation.
Keep abreast of local and national strategies including the Valleys Task Force Our Valleys Our future, the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act and the Environment Act.
Attend, as agreed by the Director, relevant meetings, conferences and events.
Work within the policies and procedures of Cambrian Village Trust and undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title as may be determined by the line manager.
Undertake training and professional development as required.
Assist and develop all areas of CVT where necessary.
Facilitate sessions for participants as agreed as outlined in the Stepping Stones project plan for the needs of the business to increase sustainability.

Interest in and/or experience of rural heritage skills and nature
Experience of partnership working, including the setting up of peer support groups
Knowledge of best practice in volunteering.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and practices relating to vulnerable and marginalized people.
Proven knowledge experience of managing staff in a community development setting.
Knowledge of the third sector in Wales and issues affecting it
Excellent interpersonal skills with significant experience of, building managing and sustaining relationships with a wide range of people and partner organisations.
Project management skills
Self-motivation and ability to use own initiative and to work in a team.
Have experience of monitoring and evaluation models.
Understanding of budgets and financial reporting
Able to work flexibly with occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Desirable:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related field or have the equivalent skills through experience.
Experience of co-production
Experience of multi-agency working and its benefits.
Ability to delegate tasks in a clear way. To Supervise staff and volunteers in an empowering and engaging manner.
Knowledge and experience of issues in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
Ability to work on own initiative and to contribute ideas.
A good knowledge of the Welsh Language
Full clean driving license and own car
