The Community Development Lead plays a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and stakeholder development in North Solihull. This position requires a dynamic individual who can lead a team effectively, manage projects, and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve community objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of place-based working experience, community asset development, volunteer leadership skills, marketing / comms acumen, and a passion for tackling inequalities.
Duties
Manage community projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with organisational goals.
Develop and implement strategies to promote community programmes and events.
Help develop fundraising activities to support community initiatives and enhance resources.
Oversee aspects of social media management to engage the community and raise awareness of activities.
Manage and develop volunteers
Hold stakeholder meetings
Support bidwriting / grant applications
Support management of community buildings
Work as part of a community leadership team to drive the organisation forward
Support change and uphold values
Provide administrative support, including budgeting, reporting, and communication with stakeholders.
Collaborate with public health officials to promote health education and awareness within the community.
Facilitate teaching sessions or workshops aimed at empowering community members.
Skills
Proven supervising experience in a team-oriented environment.
Strong community project management capabilities with a track record of successful initiative implementation.
Demonstrate leadership skills that inspire and motivate others.
Experience in fundraising efforts that effectively mobilise resources for community projects.
Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in community engagement.
Administrative experience that includes organisational skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of public health principles and practices relevant to community well-being.
