Job Description

We are seeking a

Community Engagement Manager

to lead the creation and delivery of community engagement strategies to support the successful delivery of regeneration and other development projects within the regional development programme.



You will be part of the wider SNG development team, helping to ensure we meet our ambitious targets in terms of housing delivery, together with our aspirations to create great places and highly sustainable new homes and neighbourhoods.




Key Accountabilities will include:




Creation and leadership of community engagement strategies across a variety of regeneration and development projects to ensure customers are fully consulted with and informed, including creating opportunities for customers to actively participate within the development process, to support and enable successful project delivery. Development of effective working relationships with customers, operational partners, and other local stakeholders. Effectively engage customers and stakeholders including print, press releases, websites, social media and e-newsletters. Development of community stakeholder mapping to ensure consultation is targeted to local community including hard to reach groups, to successfully achieve regeneration objectives. Proactive monitoring of engagement outcomes and regularly feedback insights to wider development team to support development delivery.



What we're looking for:




Good communication skills, tailored to a range of audiences. Track record of customer/stakeholder engagement and relationship management. Knowledge of methods to collect and monitor data and understanding of how to manage data appropriately in line with statutory requirements. Strong understanding of the requirements for consultation and engagement in development and regeneration projects and experience of working in the social housing sector. Ability to understand design information and communicate this to customers and stakeholders. Experience in dealing sensitively with customers in challenging and complex environments and applying good problem-solving skills. Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively or in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Strong understanding of best practice in community engagement and applying it across your career. Experience of managing a mixed and varied workload of conflicting priorities responding effectively to the needs of all customers.
