How you'll make a difference:
Building new relationships with communities, partners and town and parish councils, the information and support you provide will help ensure the activities of the council will deliver what communities need and support them to develop their own solutions.
To support community growth it is key that you develop good relationships and build conversations within communities to understand their lived experiences and strengths.
What you will be doing:
To support community development, it will be your responsibility to provide advice, guidance and support to community groups, partners and customers.
Using your specialist knowledge, you will identify areas within local communities where support is required and engage people in the delivery of services.
It will be key for you to assist in building local community networks and developing engagement to make an effective contribution to a wide range of initiatives.
To secure involvement in achieving objectives, it will be essential to develop good relationships with partner organisations.
You will plan and deliver events to partners and the community, including consultations, presentations and briefings, in a variety of settings.
What we need from you:
It is essential you have relevant practical experience in community engagement, backed by evidence of appropriate specialist knowledge.
You will be working towards a professional technical qualification and/or hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification relating to community development, engagement or participation.
We require you to be able to demonstrate appropriate specialist knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and processes.
Given the elements of this role, you will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to build relationships and engage successfully with community groups and partner organisations.
What you need to know:
This is limited term contract, ending 15th September 2027.
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road and working from home but with an expectation that you will be out and about in our communities at places and times which suit them. This is likely to involve some evening and weekend working.
