Community Engagement & Outreach Intern ( Young Carers )

About the role

Carers Lewisham are looking for a motivated intern to support the commercial engagement strand of our Christmas campaign, which raises awareness and donations for young carers via Carers Lewisham. This role is ideal for someone interested in community development, marketing, or social impact.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and reach out to local businesses to encourage campaign support (e.g. poster placement, QR code visibility, donation promotion). Build and maintain a contact list of participating businesses. Coordinate with the campaign team to ensure messaging is consistent across all touchpoints. Support the distribution of campaign materials (posters, flyers, QR codes). Assist with tracking engagement and reporting outcomes. Attend brief weekly check-ins with the campaign team.

Skills & Attributes

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence in approaching and engaging with local business owners. Organised and proactive, with good time management. Interest in community work, marketing, or fundraising. Familiarity with Lewisham and surrounding areas is a plus.

Guidance and mentorship from campaign staff. Access to campaign materials and digital assets. Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a local cause.
