The Community Fundraising Lead inspires and enables the community to raise vital funds for Good Company. Working closely with the CEO and Community Engagement Lead, this role builds a team of volunteer fundraisers to organise local events, from quiz nights and golf days to sponsored walks and raffles, ensuring every pound raised helps more people live well, for longer, and in good company.This role is about bringing people together to make a difference, using creativity, storytelling, and community spirit to raise awareness and income in ways that are joyful, inclusive, and aligned with our approach.
Key Responsibilities
Community Fundraising
Plan and deliver a calendar of community fundraising activities that grow naturally from the spirit of our Clubs
Work with a team of volunteer fundraisers to host events such as quiz nights, afternoon teas, dinner dances, golf days, and sponsored walks
Support and encourage ideas from the community, helping members, local businesses, groups, and schools to bring their own fundraising ideas to life
Take care of the practical details for each event, such as bookings, logistics and promotion, so everything runs smoothly
Make sure every event feels welcoming, safe, and true to Good Company's way of doing things
Collect stories, photos, and feedback from events to share with the wider team and celebrate what our community achieves.
Volunteer Fundraising Team
Recruit and provide support to a team of fundraising volunteers and help them feel part of the Good Company community
Provide practical resources and encouragement to enable volunteers to plan and host their own fundraising activities
Celebrate volunteers and acknowledge the difference they make, sharing stories and successes so everyone feels valued
Work closely with the Community Engagement Lead to attract new fundraising volunteers and explore opportunities to fundraise alongside local groups, clubs and partners.
Individual Giving
Invite members and the wider community to choose to support Good Company through a simple monthly or annual gift
Help nurture a sense of belonging by keeping supporters connected to the difference they are making in people's lives
Support the development of friendly, accessible ways for people to join our regular giving community, whether online, at events, or through conversations
Look after our regular givers by thanking them warmly, sharing stories of impact, and making sure they feel part of something meaningful
Gather helpful insights from regular givers to understand what inspires them, and use this to develop thoughtful ways of deepening support over time
Work with the wider team to grow a sustainable community of supporters who play a key role in keeping Good Company thriving for years to come
Community Partnerships
Develop relationships with local businesses, clubs, schools, and community organisations to grow fundraising opportunities
Identify partners to support the running costs of Clubs and Good Company HQ
Join local business networks, such as the Crowborough Chamber of Commerce, to raise awareness of Good Company's work
Promote workplace giving, matched funding, and corporate volunteering
Ensure events are well-promoted and consistent with Good Company's tone and brand
Represent Good Company at community events with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
Income Generation and Reporting
Set and monitor community fundraising targets
Maintain accurate income and expenditure records for events and campaigns
Ensure all fundraising complies with Fundraising Regulator guidelines, GDPR, and Good Company's safeguarding policies
Prepare short summaries and reports on fundraising outcomes and impact stories for trustees and funders
Key Skills and Attributes
Experienced or confident community fundraiser with a creative flair
A natural people person, engaging, persuasive, and approachable
Excellent event planning and organisational skills
Experience coordinating or motivating volunteers
Comfortable using digital fundraising platforms and CRM systems (Beacon)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative team player - works well with engagement, admin, and communications colleagues
Positive, proactive, and flexible - enjoys variety and thrives in a community environment
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (occasional evening/weekend work may be required)
