Overview


Off Grid Community have been creating a Food Forest and Food Growing Co-Operative for the last 3 years.

We are looking for a Community Gardener to join our team on a temporary contract initially (this is covering sick leave) and will initially be for 12 months.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in permaculture and sustainable practices, with hands-on experience in vegetable gardening and plant care, and working with small groups teaching basic skills.

This role involves working outdoors and requires a good understanding of various gardening techniques, plant species, and maintenance practices.

Hours will be:

Tuesday 9.30-2pm

Weds 10-2pm

Thurs 10-2pm

Skills and Responsibilities



Cultivate and maintain food growing raised beds; food forest; gardens, including planting, pruning, weeding, and harvesting. Experience in planning for next years growth Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks. Monitor plant health and growth, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases. Assist in maintenance. Collaborate with other team members to design and enhance garden layouts. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and work areas.
Additionally if you have any previous skills around bushcraft or forest school this would also be beneficial.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

Work Location: In person
