Job Title: Community Health & Wellbeing Officer (Harm Reduction)

Salary: 24,000 - 27,000 PA

Hours of Work: You will be expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, excluding lunch breaks. The role may include evening and weekend hours depending on the need of the programme and wider trust commitments.

Location: Blackburn Rovers Football Club, Ewood Park, Blackburn, BB2 4JF.

Overall purpose of the Job:

Duties & Responsibilities:



Lead on 'Harm Reduction' (substance misuse) delivery in line with Blackburn with Darwen Public Health, linked to existing pathways for groups & individuals (including attending the Combating Drug Partnership, ROOTs Community Forum and Operation Delivery Groups). Support BRCT's new and established health and wellbeing projects, as part of our Community Wellbeing Hub, at Ewood Park. Support targeted outreach work with detached project engagements with adolescents in the community. Identify local partners whose clients would gain increased benefit if part of their services were delivered from a professional football club stadium - focusing on organisations who support those with moderate to severe mental health conditions. Identify and work with key stakeholders locally and nationally, ensuring strong and effective relationships, whilst identifying new partnership opportunities to increase BRCT's work and visibility. Assist in ensuring that the Community Wellbeing Hub runs to an exceptional standard, offering the highest level of customer satisfaction, ensuring effective usage and maintenance plans are delivered. Organise and host events within the Wellbeing and Targeted services. Including Match Day activities Support with monitoring and evaluation to establish positive health outcomes and project engagement. Undertake every opportunity to promote a positive image of the BRCT and Blackburn Rovers FC. Showcase our charity's values, always be a positive role model and set standards for other members of staff to follow. Contribute to creating a positive working and learning environment. Carry out any other matters referred by the senior management for specific attention.

General



To always, represent Blackburn Rovers FC and BRCT in a professional manner regarding dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism. To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.

Knowledge & Experience:



Essential:



Experience delivering community health programmes and support groups; The ability to work with participants with complex needs; Experience of recruitment activities and the ability to recruit and retain the required number of participants across programmes; Knowledge of health and fitness related activities; An understating of working with those living with signs and symptoms of poor mental health; Knowledge around substance misuse and ability to support the local population who may need specialist interventions; and Creating partnerships with like-minded organisations.

Desirable:



A degree or equivalent level qualification; Experience of working with a football club and/or CCO; Health & wellbeing programme development; Mental Health First Aid qualification; Safeguarding and risk management experience; and Monitoring and report writing experience.

Skills Required:



Essential:



Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills; Organisation of programme files, meeting deadlines and meeting KPI's; Due to the varied target audiences across the role the successful candidate must have excellent listening skills and be able to signpost those that require additional support; Problem solving and adaptability are essential due to the varied nature of the role; and Ability to respect confidentiality and act professionally on particular issues.

Desirable:



Computer skills including the ability to operate numerous programmes; and Using data systems to provide high-quality and informative reports which include powerful case studies.

Qualifications:



Essential:



Completion of mandatory safeguarding training through education or employment.

Desirable:



To hold a valid UK driving licence.
