School Health and Wellbeing Officer


27.5 hours per week, plus 5 additional days, Term Time only


Working hours: 09.00am - 3.00pm


Salary: Grade 5, SCP 9-11


Actual Annual salary: 16,845.34 - 17,627.12


Outwood Academy Freeston is seeking to appoint an individual who will be responsible for managing medicine and to lead on the provision of First Aid and medical assistance to students and staff at the academy. The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students and staff across the academy.


Other responsibilities include producing individual healthcare plans, PEEPS, and Risk Assessments for N code children, with support from inclusion teams for children with SEND, and accompanying students to hospital and home whenever necessary, logging incidents and maintaining databases and supplies. You will be required to write and review school risk assessments, school/trips and take part in any accident investigations. The successful applicant must be a qualified first aider or willing to undertake the 3-day First Aid course and be enthusiastic and empathetic. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.


The role will involve passing over information to colleagues, so good communication skills are essential.


The successful candidate needs to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work to ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on one's own initiative, as well as part of a team is essential.
